A SET OF FIVE BRONZE BUSTS OF ROMAN EMPERORS
19th century, by Nelli, Rome
Each depicting a head-and-shoulders of a Roman Emperor in a toga with a clasp on his right shoulder, except for Nero who is shown in military attire with a clasp on his left shoulder, on a waisted socle with tablet bearing an inscription of the Emperor's Italian name: 'VESPASIANO'; 'TITO'; 'TIBERIO'; DOMIZIANO'; 'NERONE', on a breccia rossa turned pedestal and black marble moulded plinth, the busts stamped on the reverse 'NELLI ROMA', one socle associated
