A German silver-mounted ivory tankard
Apparently no maker's mark, Germany, late 19th Century; also struck 800 and with later Austrian foreign made mark
On a circular domed gadrooned base with plain spreading foot rim, the ivory body carved with Bacchus surrounded by a naked woman drinking wine, silver woman-shaped handle with scroll foliage thumb-piece, domed partly gadrooned silver cover with a large ivory putto finial playing an a mandoline, gilt inside, marked on base
