Mark of Jacob Knijff, Delft, 1637, also struck with later Dutch duty mark of 1853-1927
The bell-shaped cup engraved with scrolling foliage, pending fruit, four birds and two various coat-of-arms, the upper section of the cup partly gadrooned and engraved with curves and lines against matted ground, above a conforming knob with three scroll brackets supporting the mill with a clock dial and revolving sails, fitted with a pipe and a ladder with two millers carrying sacks and a third standing in a doorway, marked on lower rim cup
