A William IV oak work table
with circular veneered elevating top, gallery missing, centred by an engraved brass lidded top miniature painting of a gentleman, and enclosing a fitted compartment below in the frieze applied with flower heads on octagonal column, trefoil base with similar flower heads on scroll feet, the brass lid of the miniature engraved, the oak of which this table was made was under the foundation of Old London Bridge, upwards of 650 years and taken up from thence in 1829 by William John Jolliffe Esq. and Sir Edward Banks, the contractors and builders of New London Bridge -- 30½in. (77.5cm.) high, closed the top 16in. (41cm.) diameter
