A RARE ART DECO DIAMOND AND ENAMEL VANITY CASE, BY OSTERTAG
The black enamel case, of square form and geometric design, decorated to the obverse with a central fluted and polished motif, extending graduated old European and rectangular-cut diamond vertical lines, the panel lifting to reveal a mirror and covered powder compartment, the black enameled reverse panel lifting to reveal an open compartment, further enhanced at the top terminal by diamond collet accents, the central panel lifting to reveal a watch, the silvered rectangular cream dial with Arabic numerals, flanked by a sliding perfume holder, the opposing terminal with a sliding lipstick holder and comb, circa 1930, 7.0 x 1.7 x 7.4 cm., with French assay marks for gold and maker's marks, in a fitted silk case
