FIRST EDITION OF THE FIRST ENGLISH-LANGUAGE TREATISE ON BALLOONING. Cavallo's treatise traces experiments in flight from Greco-Roman times to 1785. The majority of the volume is devoted to his contemporaries, the Montgolfiers, Blanchard and Lunardi. See Maggs Aerostation, nos. 50 and 60.
