FIRST EDITION. Jacob Dobrzensky von Schwarzbruck was a Bohemian doctor, physicist and inventor who flourished during the second half of the 17th century. This work describes numerous remarkable mechanical inventions, including a device which anticipates Lord Worcester's "water-commanding engine." The first part deals with gravity; the second with pneumatics and hydraulic inventions; and the third part deals with hydrotechnics, perpetual motion, barometers, etc. Wellcome II:425. RARE.
