(Title lightly soiled, few shoulder notes in index shaved, internal hole on final leaf not affecting letters, red ink number stamp on first text leaf.) Contemporary vellum over pasteboard (covers bowed and a bit soiled). Provenance: some contemporary marginalia; C.J. Palmer, Armour Institute of Technology (inscription dated 1917 on front free endpaper).

Second edition of Tunstall's important mathematical book, dedicated to Sir Thomas More. The first edition (London: R. Pynson, 1522) was the first book wholly on arithmetic printed in England.
