The molded rectangular top with rounded ends abovea short panelled frieze-drawer and two further drawers, flanked by stop-fluted pilasters and two double-panelled doors enclosing two shelves, on fluted turned tapering legs and sabots, remounted

Lot Essay

This ébéniste remains unrecorded except for activity by his widow in the 1780's. A commode of virtually identical form to this commode but with oriental lacquer decoration stamped CHARRIERE sold at Christie's London, 18 June 1987, lot 188.
