Lying in Croydon
Stored on behalf of the owner in a wine-merchant's cellar
Château Pichon-Longueville, Lalande--Vintage 1988
Pauillac, 2me cru classé. Château bottled
Tasting note: my most recent notes have been consistently complimentary, each one ending a 'a good '88'. Richly coloured; a good whiff of lavender and 'sea breeze'; mouthfilling, sweet masked tannin. Two more recent notes: mahogany-rimmed maturity; sweet, fleshy. A good ripe '88. Delicious now. Last tasted October 2001. M.B.
