Each centred by a ribbon-tied oval medallion of a Classical scene, issuing two scroll branches, each with a nozzle and drip-pan; the back inscribed HV 955 numerous times

Lot Essay

The bronzier Henry Vian specalised exclusively in gilt-bronze, especially light fittings, and produced articles of the highest quality, so much so that the style of casting and gilding can often be mistaken for 18th Century work.
