An early Napoleon III ormolu-mounted Boulle and ebonised box
Circa 1850
Surmounted by a shaped hinged lid centred by a circular medallion with the letters S.B surmounted by a coronet, opening to reveal a rectangular removable tray and brass-inlaid interior, the lockplate inscribed Carnesson, Palais Royal 21 & 22, on four pierced scrolling foliate feet
10¼ in. (26 cm.) high; 22½ in. (57 cm.) wide; 17¾ in. (45 cm.) deep
