A Sicilian maiolica albarello and an Italian crespina
17th and 16th centuries
The waisted albarello, probably Caltagirone, painted in a typical palette with an Italianate landscape within an oval cartouche issuing scrolls on a ground of flowers and leaves (cracks to rim, some glaze flakes), the crespina, probably Faenza, painted with a winged putto within a circular cartouche below panels of scrolling foliage (extensively damaged and repaired)
The albarello 11½ in. (29.2 cm.) high, the crespina 9¾ in. 94.8cm. diam.
