A West Country oak chest, late 17th century
probably Gloucestershire, with a moulded lid above a trailing foliate frieze and triple panel front craved with rosette filled quatrefoil and lozenge motifs to the outer panels and flanking a central panel carved with radiating stylized flowerheads, between interlocking foliate rails and stiff leaf carved stiles -- 27in. (69cm.) high, 52in. (133cm.) wide, 21½in. (54cm.) deep
