Lot Essay

The design is based on a watercolour entitled 'The Senses' by Walter Crane (1845 - 1915) and the tablecloth was manufactured by John Wilson and Sons. The tablecloth was shown at 1893 Arts and Crafts Exhibition, along with four napkins, which displayed the same motifs, but without the animal border
