REMNANTS OF A FANTASTIC PRIVATE CELLAR FROM THE FAMILY OF ONE OF AMERICA'S FOREMOST ENTREPRENUERS
The following lots are the remnants of one of the finest small drinking cellars I have yet seen. Functional and used on a daily basis it supplied the house with some the worlds finest wines. Tucked underneath the games room, adjacent to both the bar and the
dining room, it's position is perfect. Temperature and humidity
controlled at all times, the wines are in great condition. I tasted a bottle of Mouton-Rothschild 1970 (level: top shoulder), a wine notorious for not cellaring well. It was delicious; ripe, full of life and with great flavour and a fine long finish. Hallmarks of a well stored wine.
This cellar comes to us from the family of a man who has recently
passed away. Survived by his lovely wife and eight children, he was a
family man, who in all respects enjoyed life. After a distinguished
career in medical and bio-medical electronics he changed paths in the
1970s when, after watching an old Star Trek rerun of Spock playing
chess against the ship's computer, he conceived the idea of electronic and computer chess. A great chess player in his own right, it seemed that he found that great combination of work and pleasure.
Almost all of these wines were purchased directly upon release and from the very finest of sources.
