A Gilt Bronze Figure of Yamantaka Vajrabhairava
Nepal, 16th/17th Century
Finely cast with Yamantaka in yabyum with his consort trampling on prostrated figures and animals, his principal hands holding a chopper and skull cup and his remaining hands radiating around him, wearing beaded festoons and a garland of severed heads, his consort suspending a flayed elephant skin across his back, some inlay of hardstones, the faces with cold gold and the hair with orange pigment, base sealed
