BOYER, Abel (1667-1729). The Royal Dictionary, in two parts. First French and English. Secondly English and French, London: for R. Clavel, H. Mortlock [and 18 others], 1699. 4° (245 x 196mm). Engraved title by S. Gribelin after P. Berchet. (Slight offsetting from printed title onto engraved title, a few leaves browned, some spotting, occasional ink spots.) Contemporary panelled morocco gilt, spine and covers decorated in gilt, gilt edges (head and tail of spine chipped and frayed, extremities quite rubbed, scuffed). Provenance: John Churchill (contemporary inscription on endpaper) -- M. Churchill (later inscription on endpaper) -- Ditton Park (bookplate).
