A French 4-inch diameter terrestrial globe
Entitled GLOBE TERRESTRE J.L. & CIE PARIS J. Bernhard Sc.. Circa 1900
The globe made up of twelve chromolithographed gores laid on a pasteboard sphere, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours, the ecliptic graduated in degrees with sigils for the houses of the Zodiac, the meridian of Paris graduated but unnumbered, the equinoctial colure graduated in degrees, the oceans showing ocean currents, the continents variously coloured and showing rivers and some towns and cities, with an iron finial, raised on a short brass arm to a cast-iron tripod base incorporating the heads of three old men and the legs terminating in lion's paw feet
