A Swiss tortoiseshell and gilt-brass mounted singing bird box
Late 19th/Early 20th Century
Of typical rectangular form, with hinged door to the rear for key, sliding release to the front to open oval gilt-brass cover engraved with a flying bird and a leafy sprig, the bird emerging from filigree work to move and flap its wings and open its beak to birdsong; with original key cast with a cricket and with modern gilt-tooled red leather presentation box
