Signed on the 2-inch diameter globe at the centre A PARIS chez le S. Fortin rue de la Harpe 1773. 18th Century
The globe made up of twelve engraved gores with some clumsy hand-colouring, the equatorial graduated in degrees and hours, the ecliptic graduated in degrees but unnumbered, the prime meridian graduated in degrees and running through Fero, the Paris meridian also shown, the continents showing some rivers and cities, Australia, New Zealand and Alaska all with incomplete coastline (some rubbig and paper loss), held on an iron spike at the centre of the pasteboard armillary comprising polar, tropic and equatorial circles, two colures and the ecliptic band, all covered in engraved paper with labelling and edged in red, all bar the polar circles graduated in degrees, the ecliptic showing pictures, sigils and names for the houses of the Zodiac, and also showing the days of the month, with an hour dial and a paper-covered wooden meridian showing graduations in degrees, raised on a baluster turned ebonised wooden column and plinth base
