Collation: [1-98] (1/1 blank, 1/2r tabula, 2/1r author's preface, 2/2r woodcut of God creating the world surmounted by cosmological diagram of the Creation, 2/2v text, 9/8v colophon). 64 leaves (of 72, lacking first quire). 50 lines with headline. Type: 6:56(75)G. One 10-line and one 6-line woodcut ornamental initial, 25 woodcuts repeated to 68 (Redgrave count), woodcut roundels. (Some spotting and minor worming, a few woodcuts stained, marginal tear in last leaf.) 18th-century speckled sheep over pasteboard, gilt spine, red-speckled edges. Provenance: Nicolo Brasaeco (deleted 16th-century inscription) -- Lucretius Palladius (inscription dated 1670).

Third Venetian and second Ratdolt edition of Rolewinck's chronology of the world. The text of this edition is a page-for-page reprint of the earlier Venetian editions, but with an additional note on the death in May 1481 (and descent into Hell) of Sultan Mohammed II, the conqueror of Constantinople.
