Japanese whaling

A condensed version of the inscription reads: On October 1804 this scroll which had been handed down in the family of Toshiaki was presented to the chief advisor to the emperor. It was later presented to the emperor who showed great interest in it. Being an unsurpassed treasure of the family of Toshiaki, I was asked to make a note of this, 1818, Provincial governor of Kii Province.
