Lot Essay

The seal Jixiang was commmonly used by Li Junting on his wares when he was not signing with one of his several assumed names. It is among his better-known seals, appearing on many examples. See the cinnabar-red overlay yellow glass bottle bearing the same seal, from the Blanche B. Exstein Collection, sold in these rooms, 21 March 2002, lot 50.
