A CIZHOU PAINTED BOWL AND COVER
Jin dynasty, 12th-early 13th century
The deep U-shaped bowl painted in dark brown on a white slip under a clear glaze with a band of feathery leaves between double line borders, the glaze and slip falling short of the foot ring to expose the pale grey stoneware body burnt buff color in the firing, the interior also covered in slip and glazed, the domed cover with flat top similarly decorated
