painted with a Muse recumbent in clouds with putti in attendence, the cavetto gilt as a wreath, the border with striated lappets, the underside in colors with an English crested shield, the motto Virtus in Arduis on a scrolling ribbon below, 9 1/8in. (23.2cm.) diam.; together with two Paris claret-ground cabinet plates, iron-red script a L'escalier de Cristal a Paris script mark, painted within claret borders gilt in the Empire style with garlands and fronds, one with Femme de la Provence d'Ingrie du Cøté de la Finlande named in French on the underside, the other with two bullfighters in a landscape, 8 5/8in. (21.9cm.) diam. (3)
