gilt fusee movement signed and numbered G.Graham London, 6519, with cylinder escapement, square baluster pillars, chased and pierced balance cock with diamond endstone, later white enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic five minute marker's, eccentric winding hole, centre seconds, later pierced minute and hour hands, later gold case with chased decoration and an engraved monogram to the back, 47mm.

Lot Essay

The British Museum confirms this movement to be by George Graham and dating circa 1751. George Graham is one of the most eminent of English maker's, contributed many papers and improved or perhaps invented the Cylinder escapement, which he used from about 1726, see: Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World by G.H Baillie.
