Comprising; a seat and two chairs, all cast with open foliate c-scrolling backs with lyre-style motif, legs cast with bell flowers, on splayed feet, re-painted

Lot Essay

Although unstamped this design is attributed to the Robert Wood Foundry, Ridge Road, Philadelphia, which began production in 1839. Robert Wood merged his foundry with Elliston Perot in 1858, and an example of the chair features in their 1858 catalogue as number 89.
