A pair of Louis XVI Beauvais pastoral tapestry panels
En suite with the preceding lot, from Pastorals Draperies Bleues et Arabesques or Pastorales Palmiers, woven in wools and silks, each with a central scene beneath a floral arbour with drapery festoons supported by palm trees, one depicting young men and maidens picking fruit and feeding chicken, the other depicting a young man removing eggs from a bird's nest with maidens attending, mounted on a later hard-board back, areas of reweaving and restoration, particularly to pale silks, some losses to silks, slightly reduced in size
