The large sculpture, also known as the Farnese Herculeus, is located in Naples at the Museo Nazionale and was first recorded in 1556 at the Palazzo Farnese. (Cf. F. Haskell and N. Penny, Taste and the Antique, Yale University Press, 1981 pp. 229-232)
