Lot Essay

The one act ballet 'Les Tentations de la bergère ou L'Amour vainqueur', with music by Monteclair (1666-1737) revised and orchestrated by Casadesus, choreography by Bronislava Nijinksa, decor and costumes by Gris, was first performed by Diaghilev's Russian Ballet at Monte Carlo on 3 January 1924.
