The beaker of cylindrical form with flared engine-turned rim and rounded base on reeded foot, with an inscribed "View of the Treasury" on one side and a stormy harbour on the reverse, within floral scroll cartouches wtih foliate scrolls between, on broad stippled band, the upper border engraved 'Hilgers' and dated '20.6.40'; together with an oval snuff-box depicting a bearded man on a lion? with a town in the background to the cover, and two ships in a harbour on the base, in laurel borders, the sides with architectural designs; and a rectangular slightly curved snuff-box with a soldier descending from his carriage to help a girl lying by the road on the cover and with a view of the Stock Exchange on the reverse, in stiff-leaf borders, both marked in cover and base
