A .64 FRENCH SILVER-MOUNTED D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN
Signed Roussely à Périgueux, early 19th Century
Converted from flintlock, with rebrowned twist barrels (breeches pitted) stamped 'Roussely' on the underside of each breech, signed flat locks each engraved with a recumbent stag on the tail, figured walnut half-stock similar to the preceding lot, cheek-piece on the right side, the grip and fore-end cut with basketwork chequering (worn, fore-end cracked, barrel-bolt defective), full silver mounts cast and chased with animals and Neo-Classical decoration in high relief (rear ramrod-pipe replaced), silver ramrod-pipes and sling swivels, and associated whalebone ramrod, French provincial silver hallmarks for 1819-39, maker's mark MC
