A .57 BRESCIAN WHEEL-LOCK BELT PISTOL
Circa 1640
With shortened two-stage barrel, octagonal then polygonal, the top of the breech stamped 'Gio Lazarino Cominazzo', plain tang, flat lock with chiselled foliate details and struck on the inside with maker's mark 'GR' crowned, lightly carved figured walnut full stock (minor damage), steel mounts chiselled in relief in the Brescian manner, engraved steel inlays, later (?) steel belt hook, chiselled trigger, and iron-tipped ramrod, together with an associated wooden-handled spanner
