Helmet Circa 1847-71
An "Albert" pattern helmet, the silver-plated skull with gilt ornamentation (gilding retouched) including large helmet plate (mounted with 'hobnail' star with VR cypher within regimental title mounted on the center), rose side-bosses and a chin-chain (from a Hussar officer's busby and shortened), helmet lining missing; back-peak, plume socket and helmet-plates somewhat defective; helmet now drilled for adaptation and mounted to match the previous lot, the plinth bearing a Victorian helmet-plate of the Berkshire Regiment (ends of rays defective); together with a black horsehair plume of later pattern, without finial
