The first mid-19th century, the second probably 20th century
An officer's brooch of the 91st (Argyllshire) Highlanders, of silver-plated metal in round, bombé form, set with large stone to central hollow and extensively engraved with thistles and regimental title-scrolls XCI ARGYLLSHIRE and battle-honor scrolls PENINSULA, TOULOUSE, PYRENEES, NIVELLE, NIVE, ORTHES, CORUNNA, ROLEIA and VIMIERA, with brooch-pin fitting; together with another plaid-brooch, probably for a Warrant Officer of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment), in silver-plated metal of domed ring form with narrow band of engraving near outer edge and mounted with St. Andrew on a circular thistle wreath, with brooch-pin fitting
