TWO PAIRS OF HORSE PISTOL HOLSTERS FOR A FRENCH GENERAL, AS USED 1844-70
The first 1850-70, the second 1860-80
A pair of Full Dress holsters, in fine quality heavily-stiffened red leather, the pipes with ornate gilt-brass caps with oak motif to the decorative finials, the covers of leopardskin (now devoid of hair) trimmed with a wide and a narrow row of crimped gold lace with red cloth between and with red cloth edging (some moth-damage to cloth); and a pair of Undress holsters, also of fine quality heavily stiffened light brown leather, the pipes with ornate brass caps (retaining traces of gilding) with ornate finials, the covers of leopardskin edged with a wide and a narrow row of red braid (2)
