A POUCH AND POUCHBELT OF THE GARDE NATIONALE CAVALRY, 1850 MODEL, AND OTHER ACCOUTREMENTS
The first circa 1855, the others circa 1874
Black patent leather pouch, the flap mounted with brass Napoleonic Eagle (closure tab defective), the belt (defective) now fitted with a chain-boss linked to a shield embossed with a grenade, 1850-70; a Hussar officer's pouch and pouch-belt, 1874 Model (later modified with a 2nd Empire crown), the pouch-flap with gilt-brass edging and sunburst ornament (closure tab defective), the belt of black patent leather (lining defective), bearing a shield linked by three small chains to an 1854 Pattern chain-boss (replacing the correct ornament for this belt); and a medical officer's pouch and pouch-belt, 1874 Model, the pouch flap mounted with rod and serpent device, the belt of black patent leather (broken but present) with black velvet lining, and with its fittings (3)
