A Japanese ivory okimono of a bearded man
19th Century
carved wearing long robes, holding a goblet in one hand and a double-gourd in the other, standing on an oval base with incised signature to the underside -- 6in. (15.1cm.) high; and a sectional okimono of a father and his child, bothe wearing long robes with incised decoration, the father standing behind the child with one hand resting on the boy's shoulder, on an oval base with inset red lacquer signature tablet to the underside -- 5 1/8in. (13cm.) high, (some chips).
