A three-case wood inro
19th Century
decorated in gilt-lacquer carved and pierced in high relief with two coiled dragons on a geometric patterned ground, one clambering on to the top section, incised signature to underside -- 3½in. (9cm.) long, (section repaired); a boxwood netsuke carved as the twin-head of a mythical beast with its ferocious open jaws grasping a mokugyo bell, ivory himotoshi, ivory himotoshi -- 2¾in. (7cm.) long; and a green glass ojime bead.
