A Chinese parcel-gilt silver candlestand
Qing Dynasty
the vessel is cast resting on a coned base decorated with four gilded Buddhist emblems within shaped cartouches, all against a dense foliage ground above the splayed foot designed with a gilded band of alternating dragon and phoenix amidst cloud scrolls, the broad drip-pan similarly decorated supporting a band of overlapping lotus petals surmounted by a circular receptical with tapered sides -- 8in. (20.2cm.) high, (dent to base section).
