A Derby globular jug
Circa 1795, puce crowned crossed batons and D mark, painted 5 in pale-blue
With a scroll handle and ribbed cylindrical neck, the upper part of the body painted in blue and gilt with flowerheads in bands of ovolos between gilt dentil and pendant flowerhead and anthemion, the rim gilt with a band of flowerheads on a blue band (light rubbing)
7 1/8 in. (18.1 cm.) high
