Faon de cerf couché (Recumbent fawn)

Dating from 1840 and first offered in Besse's 1844 catalogue, Faon de cerf couché also appears in Famille de cerf (see lots 65-6) and in Cerf frottant ses bois contre un arbre (see lot 70). The modèle was included in lot 718 in the Atelier sale and subsequently edited by Barbedienne.
