Lot Essay

Lifetime épreuves of this model are considered to be relatively rare. In 1876, the modèle for Cerf de France was acquired and possibly edited posthumously by Barbedienne. Another cast of this model was sold Christie's Paris, Collection Charles-Otto Zieseniss, 6 December 2001, lot 46 (9,852 euros).
