Lionne du Sénégal (Lioness of Senegal)

First offered in Barye's 1857-8 catalogue, Lionne du Sénégal is often confused with its probable pendant, Lionne d'Algérie, edited during the same period. Poletti and Richarme estimate the number of lifetime épreuves to be about twenty, with posthumous casts by Barbedienne, also offered in a larger size, being far more numerous.
