Typical, archetypal, a wine in a vintage like this which, to me, epitomises the best, understated, unshowy Pauillac- all it ever lacks is time. It is a leisurely developer, as if waiting for all the component parts to feel comfortable with each other: fruit, the sweetness of ripe grapes, good flesh, a touch of leanness, and elegance.
