Finely painted in the Japanese taste with peony blossoms entwined with flowering branches outlined in gilt is resemble cloisonné

Lot Essay

Achille Debord is recorded as a turner at Sèvres 1852-1882. See Marcelle Brunet and Tamara Préaud, Sèvres, des Origines à Nos Jours, Paris, 1978, p. 299, no. 404 for a vase of the same form decorated in the Japanese taste by Mérigot.
