Each with Classically-draped winged Victory holding aloft scrolling foliate-cast candlearms, standing on a sphere and reeded pedestal above a stepped square plinth

Lot Essay

These candelabra are closely related to the documented oeuvre of the bronzier Claude Galle. His Petit Trianon candelabra are illustrated in H. Ottomeyer, et al., Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. II, p.705, fig. 21.
