Lot Essay

Picasso had met Ines Sassier and her sister in Mougins while vacationing with Paul and Nusch Eduard and had brought them back to work for him at the rue de Boétie apartment. Although she had left Paris during the war she returned there to work for Picasso as his housekeeper. In 1946 she posed for this lithograph with her newborn child.
