Probably Syria, 8th century
Each of triangular form, carved with scrolling leafy and fruiting vine growing from the corner, plain border, the corners with rust stained holes for attachment, slight damages

Lot Essay

A large group of similar ivory panels, including a large rectangular panel and a circular one, as well as nine triangular panels was sold in these Rooms 10 October 2000, lot 300. The present lot has very similar decoration, although the panels are slightly smaller than those in the previous sale.
